The Team Elements solution is a part of The Team Effectiveness Project, an effort focused on helping teams and their leaders thrive in today’s complex, diverse, and dynamic world. We focus on providing insightful and pragmatic ways to make the world a better place through meaningful Team connection and action.

Teams deliver a significant majority of the productive effort in today’s society, both in the workplace and at large. However, our focus on performance typically orients around the individual or the greater organization. And typical teambuilding programs fail to address the unique combination of beliefs and behaviors directly contributing to a Team’s effectiveness or dysfunction.

Team Elements is designed to see the distinctive make up of a Team, create a shared language to define that Team’s experience, and equip all members with full ownership of their effectiveness and achievement of outcomes in the face of shifting landscapes and context.

Grounded in Theory and Practical Application

The Team Elements model has evolved over the last decade, building on the work of Principal and Founder, Ben Bratt. Through over 20 years of driving positive Team performance across a range of companies and industries Ben repeatedly found that Teams made the most progress when they were able to have meaningful conversations in a highly targeted way, on the topics that mattered most to each Team.

As an HR Executive and Team effectiveness coach, Ben found that very few team performance models combined a systemic perspective with pragmatic usefulness. As a Business Leader, he saw how much more engaged and productive individuals were when they were part of a great Team, and how that impacted both the Team experience and his bottom line. In Ben’s own words, “I’ve had exhilarating team experiences, I’ve had mind-numbing team experiences, and I’ve had maddening team experiences. I will always choose the first, and I want to help people choose that, too.”

Our Team brings broad and deep experience in working with Fortune 500 companies and non-profits across multiple settings and industries. We have a range of specialties and strengths that match well with our clients' needs, and we walk our talk by applying the Team Elements model for maximum effectiveness as we grow and evolve.

George Brewster

George's work is guided by his 20 years of experience at large and small organizations within financial services, technology and professional services. George brings a unique combination of proven sales experience, operations credibility, applied behavioral science knowledge, and systems thinking to this work. It allows George to successfully apply human soft skills to a focused drive for revenue results in dynamic business environments. George is passionate about being of service to others' success and specializes in supporting leaders and their teams development of emotional intelligence and presence while are under duress. George has a Masters in Applied Behavioral Science from Bastyr University.

Shannon Patterson

Shannon’s work is grounded in 20 years of business experience across the engineering, architecture, construction, education, and personal development fields. She specializes in leadership development and coaching, with a focus on emotional intelligence, interpersonal communication, confliction resolution, and 360 assessments. Shannon is exceptional at creating engaging and productive work environments where individual contributions and team collaboration are leveraged for superior results. Shannon has a Masters in Organizational Development from Pepperdine University.

Neil Vaughan

Neil is a seasoned management consulting and relationship-based sales professional with over 20 years of professional experience across multiple industries such as publishing, not-for-profit, and technology. With a deep focus on client management and sales, Neil is passionate about creating stellar and memorable experiences for his customers and partners. Having both assembled and managed teams of his own in a variety of settings during his career, Neil brings a unique perspective to his role growing and maturing the Client Solutions practice for Team Elements. Neil received his BA from King’s College in Pennsylvania and his Masters in Adult Education and Training from Seattle University.

Ariana Bratt

Ariana is pursuing BA degrees in Sociology, Psychology, and Leadership at Hope College in Holland, MI. While pursuing her degrees, Ariana serves as Team Elements' social media manager and supports consulting operations. She is an active member of the CFL consulting group which aids business leaders in the Grand Rapids area.

Gregory Flynn

Greg has spent the past 15 years of his career blending strategic insight, business acumen and process consulting to help reveal new and creative ways to tackle challenges and uncover opportunities for his clients. He is passionate about supporting people during times of transition and change, and creating space for authentic and transformative dialogue. Greg received a BA from Colorado State University and a Certification in Integral Transformative Leadership with Honors from Pacific Integral through the Leadership Institute of Saybrook University.
